Yesterday afternoon my parents hosted an engagement party for our in town relatives. I was afraid that we wouldn't get much time to talk to them at the wedding because, well, wedding stuff, and we're not planning on making the reception an all evening event. Anyway, a lot of people were unable to make it because it was kind of a last minute thing, but we had so much fun with my dad's cousins and their families, along with my aunt and her husband. It's been so long since I've seen some of these people, and we all live within an hour of each other. In fact, most of us live within 20 minutes.
It seemed kind of like a wedding run through on the food. We had sandwiches, cheese and crackers, and lots of fruit. Since the turn out was so low, there's a lot of food left over, but that worked out nicely for dinner on Saturday and Sunday.
This is the front table with a sign in sheet, and a scrapbook that my mom made just for this day. It also has the lamp and the dress that will be on the gift table at the wedding.
