11 Months Old

Last Tuesday, Witten turned 11 months old. In honor of his 11 month birthday, and because he had been fussy and throwing up A LOT for the past two weeks, we took him back to the doctor to see if we could get the poor boy some allergy medicine. When they weighed him, we found that in the two weeks since the last time he was there, he had lost 6oz. That's a lot for a baby, and I was a little nervous about it. He weighed in at 17lbs. 14oz.

We got medicine for his allergies, were told to start his reflux medicine again, and got some medicine for a monster ear infection, then started him on a pretty tough regime of all of these. We found that mixing the meds with an ounce of orange pedialight worked best because he had figured out our trick of putting the medicine in a nipple and giving it to him like that.

Today, he went back to the doctor because the daycare sent him home with fever yesterday. Of course, once we got home, the fever was gone, and he hasn't had it since. Anyway, when they weighed him today, he was 19lbs. I was not only happy about the weight gain in just a week, but actually shocked by the more than a pound that he had managed to put on in such a short amount of time.

Since he's been feeling better, he has finally been better about eating table food. We started on Friday night with sliced cheese. On Saturday, we met Joanna and her boyfriend for dinner and the Mellow Mushroom, and Witten ate cheese from my pizza as well as all of my tomatoes. On sunday, he chowed down on some chicken and rice from Panda Express. Since then, we've kind of stuck to what's familiar, cheese, chicken, we even added lunch meat and scrambled eggs last night. It's been nice to see him finally starting to enjoy table food. I was getting a little worried about him being interested in cake for his birthday, but I guess he'll be ok. Now, if we can just get him to start feeding himself. He's usually too lazy for that even though he has very good aim at getting food into his mouth.

Here are a few pictures from his 11 month photo session.
