Pumpkin Patch #1

Wow, it's been a busy weekend, and it's not over yet!  Today, we went up to Grapevine where there's a cool little pumpkin patch that we hadn't heard of until this year.  They had a corn maze which we didn't go through, but we did take lots of pictures in front of it.

If you get there early enough in the season, you can pick your own pumpkins.  By the time we went, you could just pick up the rejects off the ground.  It was a pretty cool idea though, and we still got cute pictures.  We'll make sure to go earlier next year.

They even had little wagons that you could use to pull around your little pumpkins (both kinds!)

We LOVED the kettle corn stand.  I have only had kettle corn a couple of times, and it's been out of a microwave bag.  This was freshly popped.  In fact, you could watch them popping it.  It was so fun, and it smelled divine!  Witten enjoyed helping pay for it.

There were a couple of old tractors to climb on.

And, some to drive.  They had to take turns on these, and there were a couple of aggressive kids who were kind of monopolizing this area for quite some time.  Their parents didn't seem to think that there was anything wrong with their behavior though.  We waited until it calmed down some.

Daddy even snuck a turn on one of the tractors.

Oh my goodness did we love that kettle corn!  We ate it the whole time we were there, on the way home, and the next day too!

I couldn't resist this adorable photo op with my kiddos.  I'm not in most of them because I'm on the other side of the camera, so Mitch is ALWAYS glad to take some of me with the kids.

I took quite a few of Reese with the pumpkins, but these two turned out the best.

They had some animals in the back of the farm where the kids could put their hands through the fence and pet them.  One family even thought to bring carrots, and they were nice enough to give Witten one of them.  He really enjoyed getting to feed a carrot to the goat.

As it got dark, we went to the pumpkin stand to pick out a couple for painting.  (The giant one in the basket is to put Reese in for fall photos!)

On the way out, Witten helped load the pumpkins into the car.  He was such a big helper!

We will most definitely add this to the ever growing list of activities to do in October!
