New Bathroom

When we moved into our beautiful home, we inherited THIS.

A pumpkin colored bathroom with a pedestal sink that was not ON the pedestal and a mirror that looks like it belongs in some Roman bathroom in the 1600's. (We don't have a picture of the bathroom before the sink was fixed.) When Mitch tried to attach them, he found that the sink was mounted too low. Upon further inspection, he found that the sink was mounted to the wall with NO anchors, and it wasn't in any studs. It had been sliding down the wall from it's original mounted position which is why it didn't fit on the pedestal. I have no idea how it stay up at all. Anyway, Mitch and his dad mounted it properly and got the pedestal installed underneath. We never took the time to tackle the rest of the problems with this room.

Last week we finally decided to get it taken care of. For less than $200, we have a completely new 1/2 bath. Here's the breakdown:

Blue paint with primer - $33 (This stuff is great. It only took one coat and we started out with a VERY dark paint underneath. I've NEVER painted in only 1 coat!)

Mirror - $50

Light Globes - $30 (We had bought a new fixture for $60, but returned it when we realized we didn't hate the whole fixture, just the old globes that the previous owner had gotten orange paint on)

Accessories - $50 (We bought an oiled bronze trash can, toilet bowl scrubber, and soap dispenser)

I LOVE our new bathroom!
