I know that most of you guys either have your own VBS that you go to, or you live out of town. I just had to share about our VBS, and say that even if you have your own that you're taking the kids to, if it's not tonight through Friday, I HIGHLY recommend going to The Hills for the next three nights.
Rick is teaching a GREAT class for the adults about Noah. He gives all of the good background info, and it's just a really good lesson.
The kids of course have their own classes where they receive backpacks with the Noah VBS logo on them. Witten's class received these books since they're too young for the backpacks.

After class, there is an AMAZING musical. The first night is the set up, where God tells Noah to build the arc, and all of the people make fun of him.
The second night, the animals come in. Their costumes are beautiful, and the songs are fun. They even threw in a couple from the Lion King (with their own words added of course.) It's like Spring Sing in that they use popular or recognizable songs, then put in their own lyrics. They also give the kids blue glow sticks on this night to wave every time the lights go out. I assumed that the kids were told in their classes that this was the water.

At the very end of night three, the rainbow appears and the kids go CRAZY! They are given glow sticks this night too, but they are all the colors of the rainbow. The song selection is really good again on the last night.

After the show each night, the kids can go around and meet all of the animals. They can get their t-shirts signed and take their pictures with the animals. These are friends from small group, Joe and Angela. As you can tell, Witten was getting pretty sleepy at this time!

This is my cousin's wife, Lindsey. Witten was mesmerized by her ears.

They also had a petting zoo on nights 2 and 3 after class for the kids to see. It stayed through the whole musical, and well afterwards so that all of the kids could pet the animals.

The upstairs atrium was decked out with all kinds of animals for the kids to see and get their pictures taken with.
