Estes Park Bound

This morning, we got up around 7:30 and finished all of the last minute stuff associated with getting ready to leave town. Then GranDad brought GranJan over to the house, and we embarked on our 12 hour road trip to Pueblo Colorado where we had made reservations to spend the night. (We actually stopped a little south of there in a town called Colorado City.)

Witten got a little bored at times in the car, and found it great fun trying to shove both of his feet into his mouth.GranJan and I took turns sitting in the backseat with him, so he was pretty good throughout the entire drive. We had planned on using the DVD player for 1 Elmo DVD on the trip, but ended up not using it. We've often talked about having a limit on the use of the car DVD player, and were glad that not only did we not go over that limit, we didn't even use it! We want our kids to learn how to keep themselves entertained in the car with books, music, and car games.

We arrived at the hotel around 8:15, and tried to get Witten in bed. He was totally wired though, and since none of the grown ups were going to bed, he didn't feel that he should either.We didn't end up getting him down until after 11pm. I sure hope he sleeps in tomorrow!
