Take Two

On Tuesday, we tried to move again, but the buyers of our house closed late, and the funding didn't go through until right before 5 when everyone closed. They didn't understand how we were able to come up with the money so fast for closing, so the underwriters decided not to fund us that night. Closing ended up being $2000 more than our good faith estimate, but we were very fortunate that my mom had loaned us a little money just in case something like this happened. They didn't agree with the "gift" as we called it, so they wouldn't let us close on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the new owners of our house apparently came by and saw that we were still there, so they called their realtor to come out to find out what was going on. All along, our realtor had assured us that this is the way it works, and when you're moving, you work around each other. Well, their realtor wasn't having that, and she said that we were now tenets, and she would be calling her clients to see how much they wanted to charge us. I asked her to leave the property, and called our realtor probably 30-35 times until he finally picked up the phone. He said not to worry about it. I did.

I got up at 1:30 in the morning after being unable to sleep, and got together a car load of stuff for Mitch's car. I finally got back in bed at 3:30, and got up at 7 to pack his car before he left for work.

It was a mess!
