To Emerald Lake, and Everything Inbetween!

Ok, so you guys are probably getting tired of hearing about Colorado. This'll be my last blog about it. On Thursday, we got and decided to go on a hike. There are two lakes I've been wanting to get to for 3 years now, and havn't made it out there yet. One of them is called the Loch, and is located at about 10,450 feet. The other one is Emerald Lake, and is located at about 10, 100 feet. Our origional plan was to do both of them in one day, but we quickly took inventory of our current health and abilities (Mitch was sick, and we both were not quite aclimated to the altitude yet) and decided to turn out 12mile round trip trek into about a 4 mile trip. We chose Emerald Lake because I had heard so much about it.

On the way up, there are two more lakes, the first being Nymph Lake,

and the second, Dream Lake.

There was also a pretty stream on the way. We didn't take the time to stop at it on the way up, but here we are on the way back down.

And the grande finale of the hike, which was literally climbing stairs for a few miles, was Emerald Lake!
